The objective of the contest is to move as many of your objects (Woots or Snarks) outside the playing field while keeping your opponents objects in the playing field. Objects are randomly placed on the playing field at the beginning of each match by the judge. Each team will be randomly assigned a side before each round - either Woots (Black) or Snarks (White). Be prepared to play either side. Woots are 12 oz. soda cans wrapped in black tape and filled 1/3 with kitty litter. Snarks are the same only wrapped with white tape or printer paper. There will be plenty of opportunity prior to the competition to check light values.

  1. Robots can only be touched prior to starting a round.
  2. Players cannot touch Woots or Snarks anywhere on the game board during the round.
  3. Nothing can be added or removed from the robot during a round.
  4. Woots & Snarks are randomly placed by the judge prior to starting the round.
  5. If the two opponents become caught on one another the round will be paused while opponents are returned to their starting positions before continuing the remainder of the round.
  6. Robots start facing either of the outside corners on their assigned side. A side will be assigned to you at the beginning of each round.
  7. A round is 2 minutes long or until all of one color object is removed.
  8. Teams are allowed to move their opponents objects back into the playing field.
  9. A robot that leaves the ring for more than 5 seconds is disqualified.
  10. Deliberate damage or obstruction of the opposing robot is not allowed.
